To be awarded a TESOL Certificate candidate must do the following:
- Officially be accepted to the program.
- Successfully complete a total of 16 credit units (or 10 credit units in the case of the Professional Sequence Award) of required TESOL courses with grades of "C" or better.
- Submit the required final TESOL portfolio (electronic or paper-based) that includes written assignments, observation tasks, and written feedback on assessed teaching. More information on this portfolio will provided in each course.
Upon receipt of your official transcripts (proof of a bachelor's degree), successful course completion, and portfolio submission, your certificate or award will be processed and mailed to you.
Although it is possible to complete the course and practicum components in the summer 8-week program, we strongly advise that students attempt to complete the program within two years.
