If you are not able to provide the required TOEFL or IELTS scores, then we will ask you to take an equivalent English Language proficiency test called a KITE test, or a CEFR-based test (for instance the DAAD issues test for German applicants). The cost for this service is $220, and the three required tests (grammar/vocabulary/comprehension + writing + speaking/pronunciation) will be conducted online, with video/webcam proctoring (which includes live observation of you). Once you pay for this test via our website, we will put you in touch with the KITE Testing company here in Santa Barbara.
Note that there is no guarantee of acceptance into our program simply by taking the KITE test. You must also demonstrate via the KITE test that you have met the minimum language proficiency requirement of CEFR B2 (equivalent to TOEFL iBT 60, IELTS 6.0). Our program director is happy to answer any further questions you have.
