How Do I Access UCSB Courses via Open University in GauchoSpace?

Follow the instructions below if you are enrolling in a regular session UCSB course through Open University. If you are a UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) student and you need to access a Professional course, click here for instructions.

  1. Go to http://gauchospace.ucsb.edu/.
  2. Enter your username (your UCSBnetID).
  3. Enter your password (your UCSBnetID password).
  4. Click on your course and you will see the course materials (such as syllabus, resources, and test instructions).

    Please note:
  • If a course you are enrolled in is missing on your GauchoSpace, your instructor/TA has not added you to the course. For the course to be added to your GauchoSpace, you must ask the instructor and/or TA to add you to GauchoSpace.
  • Provide your instructor/or TA with the Adding Open University students to GauchoSpace form and request to be added to the instructor’s GauchoSpace site.
  • On this form, provide your instructor/TA with your U-Mail address (for example: dsmith@umail.ucsb.edu).
  • If you use a Scantron for a test in class, you will need to write your GauchoSpace ID number (proxy perm number) on the Scantron (not your UCSB PaCE ID number).
    - Log in to GauchoSpace.
    - Click on "Edit my Profile."
    - Expand "Optional."
    - See the # in the "ID Number" field (your proxy perm number).
