How Do I Access UCSB Courses in GauchoSpace?

Follow the directions below if you are enrolling in a regular session UCSB course through Open University. If you are a UCSB Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) student you will access course materials here.

  1. Go to
  2. Enter username (your UCSBnetID).
  3. Enter your password (your UCSBnetID password).
  4. Complete the Adding Open University students to GauchoSpace form. Note: On this form, provide your instructor with your U-Mail address (for example:
  5. If your instructor is using GauchoSpace, provide your instructor with the Adding Open University students to GauchoSpace form and request to be added to the instructor’s GauchoSpace site.
  6. Go to
  7. Enter your UCSBnetID and UCSBnetID password.
  8. Click on your course and you will see course materials (such as syllabus, resources, and test instructions).

  • If a course you are enrolled in is missing on your GauchoSpace, your instructor has not added you to the course. For the course to be added to your GauchoSpace, you must ask the instructor to add you to GauchoSpace (please follow steps 4 and 5 above).
  • If you use a Scantron for a test in class, you will need to write your GauchoSpace ID number (proxy perm number) on the Scantron (not your UCSB PaCE ID number).
    - Log in to GauchoSpace.
    - Click on "Edit my Profile."
    - Expand "Optional."
    - See the # in the "ID Number" field (your proxy perm number).
