Are there any students not eligible to take Open University courses?

Yes. Open University is available to students in all academic disciplines; however, the following students are not eligible:

  • Students dismissed or suspended from the University of California
  • Students who fail to meet the English language requirement
  • UCSB students registered for the current quarter
  • UCSB students whose academic standing is one of the following: academically disqualified, dismissed by dean's action, subject to disqualification, reinstatement probation
  • Any person denied access to the UCSB campus by court, university, or police order
